Hello again..
Now, now.. I know that I haven't updated for a while...I have been busy (and yeah it's a lame excuse but it's true). Ward work and assignment caught most of my free time but now, I'm on my break, I just finished my first posting and it was awesome!
My first posting is Surgery which is the coolest posting ever. I get to do tonnes of stuff and its tiring like hell. However, it was well worth it.
The House Officer (HO) at the surgical ward was cool as heck. They were very kind and helpful. I guess they realise how hard it is to start clinical years with surgical posting, so they love helping us and giving us a few pointers and tips.
It's not like he is discouraging us, it's just that it is hard for them and we have seen it first hand. It's very hard to be a doctor. The money we make? It's not well worth it. My advice to students who aspiring to learn medicine is to really consider it...consider it hard.
To those of you who didn't know, House Office aka houseman are like Interns in the US. They have to train for 2 years and later become Medical Officer aka MO. Then, they will decide to specialise in whatever discipline they want.

Revelation
Hi guys.
Sorry for the hiatus. I know Clinical years is busy but I had no idea how busy it is. so many things that I never knew before and I had to study while attending patients. Not to mention my feet are killing me all week!
Previously when I update my 1st Pro Exam results, I did mention that I will post about me getting my own stethoscope..and here it is folks!
Ever since I learn that we can hear sounds produced by our organs inside using stethoscope, I feel like I could hear thoughts if I use it on other people head. But I'm wrong though because the idea is daft enough. Although, if I could catch my subjects on surprise, I should be able hear them right? right? No? Okay...

Skipping
Hey folks!
I'm back after 2 weeks of absence. Don't blame me, blame Eid. Okay, it was me...I'm just enjoying the free time that I got, so updating is not according to schedule. Anyway, this post is about the habits that me and my friends have with PSYCHOLOGY class.
The habit is, we rarely attend them. I hardly came to all my psychology class in my 2nd year. I did attend during my 1st year though, but I innocent back then.
Other student ask me, what would happen if Psych questions come out in MCQs? I tell them it's easy, most the questions are true and it is!

Maternity
Ahh...the miracle of birth!
The first time I went to visit the OBGYN ward I was lucky to be invited to observe the process of birthing. Super lucky that the process took about an hour from dilating to crowning. There's a lot of people involve, the midwife, nurse, other med students and also the husband is blacking out. But it's not as chaotic as TV depicted it. Probably the staff there is experienced enough.
I don't know why I did that. Spur of the moment maybe. Till next time.

Laundry Day
Kuantan City is know for its temperate weather as I mentioned it time and time again.
It can be sunny and bright and within a snap of a finger, it rains like its in Hades. I always fell for that trick, the trick of a sunny day and clear blue skies but turn ugly grey skies and the heavy downpour of rain. Torrential rain that never cease to end, especially when its the monsoon season which is during the the end of the year.
Sometimes I just hate doing laundry. Just hate it. No, not actually doing the laundry or hanging them. But I hate that scary moment when suddenly a the sky turn dark and I thought "oh crap! it's gonna rain" but then, it's just a cloud passing by a sun. Oh well, today's update doesn't concern about med school at all but I think everyone including med students is ticked off by it

1st Pro Exam
Finally, after a whole month of hiatus! *cheers*
So, in my class, we had this countdown timer for the 1st Pro Exam. When the timer show 100 days till Pro Exam, I started to take things more seriously...tried to study in the library but its not the place for me. (will discuss that later)
But I'm here to talk about my view on each paper in the Pro Exam. What is the Pro Exam? Well, it's the exam that all 2nd year student must take and pass in order to progress to 3rd Year. It also mark the end of Basic Medical Sciences and the Clinical Phase is starting.
How did I passed the toughest exam in my life so far? I don't know, but thank GOD huh?
Now that I passed, I have to buy my own stethoscope...now where would I get the money?

Superpower
Ahhh...a rare occasion in which I updated the blog after 2 weeks of absence. This was written a month a go when The Avengers made their impact in cinema worldwide. Also, coincide with the hype, Neuroanatomy also made their impact in the lives of 128 IIUM very own second year med students. Learning about those nerves supp;y and their branches is no easy task I tell you. I wish I have a super power to learn all of them. That is kind of cheating isn't it?
*ask Google
Yeah, sometimes I do that, I'll let my mind wonder off whilst staring another person. Once a woman in a bus told her boyfriend that I'm checking her out. He just give me a warning and leave me. Also, I will sometime say my thoughts loudly after I end my thoughts
Truth be told, I have drawn/sketch/write a couple of comic ideas, but I haven't got the time to draw them and upload them. Will try to make more updates though.
